LONGMEADOW OFFICE RELOCATED

Effective September 2011, we have relocated our Longmeadow Office from 175 Dwight Road, to 167 Dwight Road, Suite 101. Our new expanded office is in the same building complex, but we are now located in the first building on the first floor. We are now able to offer Blu-U/Levulan treatment for acne, actinic keratoses, and photoaged skin in addition to our signature Renew esthetic services. All of the telephone numbers remain the same.

NEW WEBSITE

In July 2011, we launched our new website with a brand new look and many added features to enhance your care. We've redesigned the site to make it easier to find patient information, added patient forms and clinical information, enabled communication through the internet via a secure site for medication refill requests, laboratory result requests, medical problems, scheduling appointments and contacting us with general dermatology questions. We've also added an online payment option and monthly website promotions.

NEW LASER SUITE AND LASERS

Our newly remodeled and redesigned LASER SUITE houses our clinically proven lasers for hair removal, blood vessels, brown spots, and tattoos. PLUS, we've added three new state-of-the-art lasers:
  • M22/IPL for photorejuvenation of the face, neck, chest, and hands.
  • CO2 Ultrapulse for acne scars, surgical scars, facial lines, wrinkles, and skin tightening.
  • V-beam Perfecta for bruise-free treatment of facial blood vessels, birthmarks, and spider leg veins.

NEW DERMATOPATHOLOGY LABORATORY

In January 2011, we opened our new dermatopathology laboratory, New England Dermatology Pathology Services. The new laboratory has streamlined the processing of biopsies and enhanced the turn-a-round time to better serve our patients.

New England Dermatology & Laser Center is proud to contribute to the local economy by also adding five additional clinical and support staff to support our dermatopathologists.

WELCOME NEW PHYSICIANS AND PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS!

New England Dermatology & Laser Center is pleased to announce the addition of the following new providers to our practice. This will decrease appointment wait times and allow us to better serve our community. We welcome:

    Bethany Foster, PA-C
  • Bethany Foster, PA-C, joined our practice December 1, 2010. She came to us from Baystate Medical Center and she will focus on general dermatology.


  • Dr. David G. Wartman
  • Dr. David G. Wartman, Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist, joined our practice effective August 8, 2010. He comes to us from Dartmouth Medical Center in Hanover, N.H. He will practice both general dermatology and dermatopathology.

  • Michael R. Lund, PA-C
  • Michael R. Lund, PA-C, joined our practice effective June 8, 2010. He came to us from Baystate Medical Center and he will focus on general dermatology.

NEW CONSTRUCTION, EXPANSION AND RENOVATIONS

Because of an increased demand for surgical services, we have greatly expanded and moved our Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery suite to first floor of our existing office building in Springfield. We have increased the number of operating rooms from 3 to 8, increased the size of the waiting room and increased the number of clinical and clerical staff. We anticipate that these changes will streamline our surgical services providing more timely and efficient patient care.

NEW DERMATOPATHOLOGY SERVICES

We have expanded and moved our dermatopathology services to the new Mohs and dermatologic surgery suite on the first floor of our Springfield office. This expansion has included the addition of a second dermatopathologist, Dr. David Wartman, who joins Dr. Mark Blumberg and allows on-site processing and interpretation of skin biopsy and tissue specimens. This service will expedite the turn around time for receiving pathology results and subsequent patient care.

NEW LASER SERVICES

Co2 fraxel ultrapulse lumenis laser system is the gold-standard state-of-the-art re-surfacing laser for reducing fine lines around the mouth and eyes, wrinkles of the face, acne, surgical and burn scars, and sun-damaged textural and color changes.

Intense pulse light [IPL]/m22 lumenis system is a broadband light source used to treat facial redness, rosacea, brown spots and sun-damaged skin of the face, neck, chest, back, arms and hands.

V-beam Perfecta for bruise-free treatment of facial blood vessels, birthmarks and spider leg veins.

New sclerotherapy option

Asclera, a newly FDA approved sclerosing injectable solution to reduce and eliminate spider and small veins of the legs. This product has been available worldwide for many years and is as safe and effective as currently used agents such as saline, glycerine, and sotradechol. Its primary advantage is that it is relatively painless compared to the other agents and is reported to have a safer side effect profile.

WESTFIELD OFFICE RELOCATED

Effective, February, 2010, we have relocated our Westfield Office from 70 Court Street to 67 Union Street. It is a brand new and expanded office in a new office building with easy access, handicapped accessibility, plenty of parking and all of the amenities of a new building. We have also relocated our billing office from our main office in Springfield to this location. All of the telephone numbers remain the same.

RENEW SERVICES

To our "Renew" esthetics practice we have added:

  • Microdermabrasion with up-to-date and state-of-the-art equipment to compliment light chemical peels in the treatment of facial discoloration, photoaging and acne.

LATISSE FOR EYELASH ENHANCEMENT

Allergan, one of the most trusted names in prescription eye-care products and also the makers of Botox for wrinkle reduction and Juvéderm filler, have released Latisse, a topical product to enhance eyelash length, thickness, and darkening. Most patients see a response by 12 weeks with a maximum response reached at 16 weeks. The degree of eyelash lengthening, thickening, and darkening may vary from patient to patient.
