LASER SURGERY

New England Dermatology & Laser Center is proud to be able to offer the newest in laser technology. We have added to our already state-of-the art laser equipment, the FRAXEL LASER, IPL INTENSE PULSE LIGHT BROADBAND LIGHT SOURCE AND THE LONG-PULSE YAG LASER.

The FRAXEL laser is one of the newest laser technologies and is revolutionizing the method of treatment for facial discoloration, including previously treatment resistant facial discoloration and melasma, acne scarring, and fine lines and wrinkles. It also improves the texture of the tone of the skin.

The IPL is a broad-spectrum light treatment which is used to improve the appearance of photo-aged skin. It reduces the appearance of brown spots, red spots and fine lines on the skin. It may also improve the overall tone and texture of the skin as well. It is sometimes referred to as a "photo facial".

The LONG-PULSE YAG laser can remove dark hair from darkly pigmented individuals, treat facial and leg veins, and improve lines and wrinkles on the skin by skin tightening.

RENOVATIONS

Our renovations are complete! After many years of anticipating and planning, our Main Street, Springfield office has had a complete make over. We are extremely pleased with our new look!

To better serve you, we have increased our front end staff and enlarged our secretarial/reception area. This change will facilitate patient flow and provide more privacy during check-in and check-out.

Our reception/waiting room area has been remodeled and enlarged for your comfort.

MOHS

Our Mohs Surgical Suite opened August 2006. Dr. Aimee Leonard and her wonderful staff have enabled hundreds of patients to experience the magic of Mohs micrographic surgery to remove their skin cancers.

To provide our patients more comfort during their surgical stay with us, we have enlarged the private Mohs waiting area.

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (EMR)

We have adopted a paperless computer system in all of our offices. Each work station and exam room has a flat screen computer monitor which will allow the physician or clinical staff to access the patient's medical records at the touch of a finger, at any time or in any location without waiting for a chart to be retrieved. This conversion to EMR allowed New England Dermatology & Laser Center the ability to have additional space (formerly occupied by the medical records) to complete our renovation project.

NEW ENGLAND DERMATOLOGY & LASER CENTER was awarded "EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR 2006" by the Employers Association of the NorthEast. This very special honor is given to the company which demonstrates exemplary treatment of its staff and we are honored to have received this recognition from our peers.

NEW FACIAL WRINKLE AND SCAR FILLERS

JUVEDERM, a new hyaluronic acid filler, and RADIESSE, a calcium hydroxylapatite filler have been approved and join RESTYLANE, SCULPTRA and COLLAGEN-BASED products as injectable fillers for cosmetic improvement of wrinkles, scars, and facial depressions. NEW ESTHETIC PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

We now carry PREVAGE MD, which contains idebenone, recognized as the most powerful anti-oxidant to combat photoaged skin. Also new to the market is ANTHELIOS, a major new sunblock and moisturizer containing mexoryl which is felt to be a significant advancement over previously available products in protecting skin from the damaging rays of the sun. We now have three certified estheticians who provide professional make-up application and analysis, laser hair removal, chemical peels, facials, facial waxing, and many other esthetic services

BLU-U/LEVULAN PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY

NEDLC is proud to be the first office in Western Massachusetts to offer the newest technology for the treatment of acne, precancerous skin lesions known as actinic keratoses, and photoaged skin. Please ask us about this new exciting therapeutic option.

ZENO THE "ACNE CLEARING DEVICE"

This device gives acne patients the option of treating individual acne blemishes at home. It is a portable, battery operated, handheld device that when held on individual acne blemishes for 2 ½ minutes three times in a 24 hours period results in 90% of acne lesions disappearing. CLARISONIC CLEANSING DEVICE

NEW PSORIASIS TREATMENTS

A new biologic agent, Humira, has been approved for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and joins Enbrel and Raptiva as major breakthrough drugs.These are self-administered injectables for patients with severe psoriasis unresponsive to conventional treatment.
